Promoting grid-use storage battery business in Kyushu to expand renewable energy introduction and stabilise electricity supply and demand
Akaysha Energy Japan Pty Ltd. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Tony Fullelove; hereinafter "Akaysha") is a company affiliated with Tokyu Land Corporation (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; President: Tatsuaki Tanaka; hereinafter referred to as "the Company"), IBeeT Inc. (Headquarters: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo, We are pleased to announce that we have commenced construction of grid storage battery facilities in the Seita district of Iizuka City, Fukuoka Prefecture.
This project will be implemented using the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry's "FY2024 Renewable Energy Introduction Expansion and Grid Storage Battery and Other Power Storage System Support Project Subsidy." Through this initiative, our company will contribute to solving social issues such as the instability of electricity supply and demand caused by the expansion of renewable energy introduction toward realizing a decarbonized society.

Background of the initiative
With the expansion of renewable energy (hereafter "renewables") toward achieving carbon neutrality by 2050, the need for storage batteries capable of compensating for fluctuations in renewable energy output caused by weather and time of day is increasing. Especially in Kyushu, the introduction of many renewable energy power generation facilities has led to frequent output control issues, raising expectations for storage facilities that can provide supply-demand adjustment functions. Through the energy storage project promoted by our company, Tokyu Land Corporation, and IBeeT, we are working to effectively utilize renewable energy and to realize a decarbonized society, a social issue.
Our company is commissioned by LLC to handle technical operations and provides technical and commissioning support by utilizing our operational know-how at storage stations in Australia. Furthermore, based on our partnerships and achievements with various companies in this first project, we will promote the domestic energy storage plant business and work toward realizing a decarbonized society.

Initiatives of each company regarding the storage battery business
Akaysha
Akaysha Energy is a market-leading company in Australia engaged in the development, ownership, and operation of battery energy storage systems (BESS), and has also expanded project pipelines in Japan, the United States, and Germany. The company was established in Australia in 2021 as an independent flexible power provider (IPP) and now employs over 200 people, with offices in Melbourne, Sydney, Brisbane, Tokyo, Portland, and Houston. Currently, Akaysha Energy provides 5.3GWh of storage capacity, with 1.9GW of projects either operational or under construction. Furthermore, about 40GWh of projects are included in the development pipeline. The company possesses market-leading expertise in energy and capital markets, project development, revenue contracts, operations, and trading, and these advanced in-house capabilities maximize value at every stage of the BESS lifecycle.
Tokyu Land Corporation
Under the business brand "ReENE," Tokyu Fudosan is developing 153 renewable energy projects nationwide, including those under development, with a rated capacity of 2,072 MW (as of the end of March 2026). Additionally, in collaboration with ReENE Co., Ltd. (100% owned by Tokyu Fudosan) and ReENE Energy Co., Ltd. (a wholly owned subsidiary of Tokyu Fudosan Holdings), we are collaborating with others to develop renewable energy power plants and storage facilities, as well as provide AM and O&M. We promote our business as a group, from power supply to aggregation. We aim to respond swiftly and strategically to future market changes surrounding the renewable energy business, further expand our presence in the industry, and establish ourselves as a new pillar of revenue alongside the real estate business within the Tokyu Land Holdings Group. The grid-use battery business began in 2023, and we are developing approximately 340MW nationwide, including the formation of the 30 billion yen grid battery consortium "Libra LLC" and the start of operation of the "ReENE Higashimatsuyama Storage Station" (2MW) in Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture, in January 2025. The Tokyu Land Group will continue to expand investments in grid storage stations by leveraging the expertise gained from its development of grid storage stations and this project.
IBeeT
IBeeT was established in 2021 with investment from Itochu Corporation and Tokyo Century Corporation to widely promote distributed power sources and realize a sustainable and flexible energy society. We sell and lease solar power generation systems, industrial and grid-grid storage batteries, and sell electricity generated by solar power (PPA). Regarding grid-use storage stations, Nishitetsu Shizen Energy LLC has leasing batteries at two storage stations in Kyushu, and has invested in Gotoku Storage Station LLC in collaboration with ReENE Co., Ltd., a subsidiary of Tokyu Land Corporation. Furthermore, in March 2026, we joined the grid storage battery consortium "Libra LLC" through joint investment with Tokyu Land Corporation and other companies to promote six grid storage facilities with special high voltage systems (nationwide, total output approximately 174MW, total project cost about 30 billion yen). This time, Iizuka Seita Storage Plant LLC is the third project in which IBeeT is investing and participating in the storage plant business. IBeeT provides a total solution for distributed power generation deployment (products, technical expertise, finance, market operations, after-sales service) to maximize energy value.
